Overview
Kakamega Forest covers approx. 240sq km & is a remnant of the Guineo-
Congolian forest ecosystem that stretched all across West Africa.
It is home to over 400 butterfly species, 27 Snake species, Rainforest wildlife,
over 360 bird species of which some are found nowhere else in the country
such as the Black billed Turaco, Blue Headed Bee Eater, Turner’s Eremomela
and Grey Parrots.
